What does the world see in us that they can’t live without?  Do they see winsome qualities and love that reaches out?-Sper

Having Cody here last week was a great blessing to for our church, Amen.  We love it when people come to bring God’s message from the heart.  People can only see your body, not what goes on inside, including your emotions, your dreams, your motives.  By only being able to see the outside, people tend to judge what is on the inside by what they see on the outside.  Don’t lose control of your emotions.  Letting anger and frustration take over on the inside will leave your testimony to show on the outside.

God is Peace.

As a Christian, you are “God’s advertisement.”  Do people want what they see in you?

Love you guys,

Pastor Mark

Prosperity in Afflictions

The second son he named Ephraim and said, “It is because God has made me fruitful in the land of my suffering.”  Genesis 41:52

When Joseph was elevated to rule over the Egyptian kingdom, he revealed some profound truths gained from the experiences of his years of adversity.  He named his first son, Manasseh for, he said, “God has made me forget all my trouble and all my father’s household”(Gen 41:51) His second son was named Ephraim because, “God has made me fruitful in the land of my suffering.”

Whenever God takes us through the land of affliction, He will do two things: 1) He will bring such healing that we will be able to forget the pain, and 2) He will make us fruitful from the painful experiences.

God does not waste our afflictions if we allow Him the freedom to complete the work in us.  His wants to create virtue that remains during times of testing so that He can bring us into the place of fruitfulness in the very area of our tests.  He never promised to keep us from the valleys of testing, but has promised to make us fruitful in them. If you’re in the valley of affliction, now is the time to press into Him.  When the time comes to bring you out of this valley, he will heal your memories and bring fruit from this very time.

Love you guys!

Life is not about every breath you take; it is about every moment that takes your breath away.  Can you come to the true fact that God is in control of your life and that this life on earth will not last forever?  You can only have everlasting life with Jesus Christ.

John 3:16 ~ God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish, but have eternal life.

So my friends take the day and try to breathe life back into the ones you love.  Give them a sign of hope that you love and need them.

P.S.  Then try it on a stranger

Love you guys!

“As my Father hath sent me, even so send I you” John 20:21

When I first started out roping I’d get nervous during a competition because I just hadn’t competed enough to build my confidence.  Practice and hard work will win your way to the short go, but you have to compete enough to overcome the nervousness. The more you compete, the less it will bother you.  You may not think you have anything to offer us at Caney Creek Cowboy Church but you do.  God gives each of us talent and he expects us to use those talents.  Week after week we find ourselves needing soldiers in this fight against the devil.

Are you being all you can be for him? (God)

Love you guys!

Marketing God

As a marketing tool in the sales industry, usually the first thing a person does is leave his business card with his potential client.  This is done so the client can reach the right person to close the deal.  Well, as Christians, we are in the business of winning souls to Christ.  Let’s make sure we leave God’s calling card to everyone we meet.  For example try this ~

Hello, my name is Mark Grimes.

Hi, my name is Clint Eastwood, good to meet you.

Nice to meet you too and God bless you, Clint.

Speaking God’s name in any conversation is opening a window to  leading someone to Christ.  Go ahead and try it, Make my Day!

For our heart shall rejoice in Him psalm 33:21

Giving: A Generous Heart

A generous heart is one marked by evidence of the Holy Spirit’s work in your life.  God’s love is demonstrated in the giving of His Son (John 3: 16).  Giving time, energy, and financial resources is the expression of a grateful heart.

In the Old Testament, the Jewish tithe (first 1/10) was a prescribed percentage of a person’s income.  It belonged to the Lord and was used to provide for the priests, the temple, and the needy.  Offerings were made on special occasions and as an obligatory part of public sacrifices of thanksgiving, blessing, or sorrow.

In the New Testament, emphasis is placed upon the believer’s heart and attitude.  Paul declares that a Christian’s giving should be the overflow of a worshipful heart and a matter of conviction before God.  Giving to others in a spirit of forgiveness-without judgement or condemnation-brings joyful, abundant rewards (Luke 6:37, 38)

Generous giving may feel hazardous to those who have little, however, the risk dims in the light of greatness of God’s power.  All resources ultimately come from God, and Paul insisted that God is able to increase these resources for the purpose of giving.  God supplies the seed and multiplies the harvest.

Friends,
Two weeks ago we had an incredible service. We were able to witness God's hand working in people's lives. We heard so many wonderful testimonies about how God is working in our church. That week we had a record number of people in attendance, but yet the lowest in our offerings. We need to place our trust in God! We need to trust God with our finances so the hard times won't be so hard.  Jesus rebuked Peter for his little faith. Matthew 14:31 says, "Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. You of little faith," He said, "Why did you doubt?" We need to learn from Peter what not to do ~ not doubt, not to fear, not to worry but to trust God in your finances. You not only support this church because you love it, but because you are a member and because you love the bullriding and team roping, the good sermons, and the people within the church. You support it because it is what the bible says. II Corithians 9:6-7 says, "Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly and whomever sows generously will also reap generously. A man should give what he decides in his heart to give, not relunctantly or under pressure. God loves a cheerful giver." We reap what we sow.
I love you guys...Keep reading his word!

FRIENDS,

We all really need to be kind to one another in our words & our actions. Remember your actions speak louder than words. 1 Thessalonians 5:11 says "Therefore encourage one another & build each other up."
Here are some ideas for being kind:
  1. Think, speak & act with kindness.
  2.  Keep asking people what can I do for you.
  3.  Everyone needs encouragement. Ask yourself "What can I say that will be encouraging?"
  4.  Wherever you are, you are there for a reason. Ask yourself "Since I am here, what kindness can I do?"
  5.  Do a daily act of kindness without letting anyone know you do it.
  6.  Pray for the welfare of others.
  7.  Call someone and tell them you love them.
  8.  Remember the Golden Rule.

SEE YOU NEXT SUNDAY!

THANKS,

Pastor Mark Grimes
