YOUR SALVATION
The Bible says that “all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23)
Because of our sinful nature we are separated from God and are unable to reach Him by any of our own actions as only perfection is acceptable to God. Since we are not perfect and none of us is able to be perfect, God sent his Son, Jesus, to earth to live a perfect life and to die in our place. “…while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us” Romans 5:8.
To be saved from our sin we must receive Christ and accept His payment for our sin.
Only then can we truly be children of God. “As many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name”. John 1:12
If God has convicted you that you are a sinner and separated from him and you want to become a child of God and turn from your sin and allow him to be the Lord of your life, you can ask him to come into your life right now. He will forgive you of your sins immediately. No questions asked. Your slate will be wiped clean and you become a child of God, a Christian, and are saved.
It doesn't matter where you are or what exact words you use. Just that you take that first leap of faith. It could be something like this...
“God, I realize I am a sinner and I want to give up my sinful life and accept Jesus into my life. I want you to be my Lord and Savior. I know that I am a sinner and want to change my life. I thank You for taking my sins and dying on the cross for me to have eternal life. I ask You to guide me in becoming what You want me to become.”
“God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life, he who does not have the Son of God does not have the life. These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, in order that you may know that you have eternal life” 1 John 5:11-13
God has now given you forgiveness of all your sin and you are now beginning your new Christian life.
